Application Process

Letters of Recommendation:
Three letters are necessary. Garnering a letter from a PA is a really good idea and will strengthen your application.  A letter from a professor attesting to your academic ability and a third one from someone who can address a weak spot in your application or a huge part of your life, a boss, someone  you serve in the community with, an advisor to a group you belong to.

Timeliness of Completed Application/Follow rules
The application, Central Application Service for Physician Assistants (CASPA) is a central application, it goes to all the PA programs in Texas and most out of state programs. CASPA becomes available at the end of April or beginning of May, it changes every year.  Your first opportunity to apply is the summer after your junior year, which is when you should garner letters, take the GRE and write your essays.  To be a successful candidate you should be completely finished applying by mid/end of July the summer before you graduate.
